Why Pay A Consultant When You Can Do It Yourself?
This step-by-step guide is an alternative to obtaining 501 (c)(3) federal tax exemption, without having to pay the fees associated with hiring a consultant. Utilizing my personal experience, I simplify the process of applying for federal tax exemption into 12-steps. I provide tips, explanations and insight as I guide you line by line through the tax exemption application; and the “Sneak-A-Peek Edition” allows you to peek at the documents I submitted to the IRS when applying for my own nonprofit’s tax exempt status. Also, as a bonus for purchasing this book, I’ve included links to several free resources to assist you in growing your organization.

great tool to use when trying to help out charitable organizations
I am attempting to help a friend start a non-profit organization helping the homeless in our hometown. This book took some of the fear out of completing the 501c3 application.
Good info, delivered in a concise and helpful manner for anyone looking to form a 501(c)3 organization. Thanks for putting this together!
If you are truly wanting to understand the federal nonprofit application process in a user-friendly context--then this book is a must! I taught college continuing education 'How to Become a Nonprofit' courses from 1996 to 2005. I am about to start teaching again and needed a comprehensive, straightforward, updated grant writing guide for myself and my students. Tanisha Williams' book is all that and more. What does Ms. Williams provide Excellent and accurate information about forms as well as easy-to-understand steps and great pointers to help you successfully complete the application. Just FYI.
